The sound of popping corks and the calm air of thousands of bottles gently resting… the smell of Saperavi in the air… there is something magical about a well-stocked wine store. The quality and broadness of the selection might be subjective, but a well-curated store with a staff that can guide you through it is a serious amenity.
Have you ever wondered, where to buy Georgian wine without going bankrupt? Is it hard to muster up the courage to enter a Georgian wine store in Tbilisi knowing that you don’t speak a word in Georgian? Forget about the handy wines you can get at supermarkets, you deserve much better! Here are the best Georgian wine shops Tbilisi has to offer!
My favorite wine Shop in Tbilisi. If you are a novice or do not have a precise idea about what kind of wine you are looking for, knowledgeable staff will help you to make a choice depending on your taste and your budget, so the best thing you can do is to cultivate a close relationship with 8000 vintages!

We were looking for shops that had an accessible and educational vibe. A high-quality and knowledgeable staff was a key requirement. This is the place to discover fine Georgian and European wines with delicious matching gastronomy. Interesting master-classes (mostly wine and food pairing) provided by their sommelier and a wide range of food and beverages be sure will satisfy any consumer. If you love to get together with other curious wine lovers, feel free to join their tasting sessions, otherwise, grab a bottle and go for a picnic at Hippodrome Park, which is right next to the “Wine and Dine”

Located in the heart of Tbilisi Old Town, G vino offers a rare selection of organic wines from small local producers. Most of the wines you will find at their bar are made according to the unique and ancient Georgian traditional technology which has been added to the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list.

It’s the ideal place to learn how wines go from grape to glass while sampling an excellent selection of bottles from local natural wine producers. the helpful staffers are happy to point out great choices at every price point.

A beautifully curated selection emphasizes warm service and incredible wines for less than $20. Employees are extremely helpful, providing a great atmosphere inviting customers to stay, hang out, and chat on wine.

Despite the fact that Winery Khareba offers only the wines produced by them, I couldn’t miss the chance to mention it in the list of coolest wine bars in Tbilisi. Khareba’s Kindzmarauli is among my favorite wines. It is made from grapes of Saperavi, cultivated in Kakheti. It has a strong sorted bouquet and aroma together with velvety and harmonious taste. At their wine shop, which is located on 1 Vakhtang Gorgasali St, you have the possibility to taste a huge variety of Khareba wines in a quiet and nice atmosphere.
Plenty of places can sell you a great bottle of wine — but only a handful are worth traveling out of your way for 🙂 Staffers are happy to recommend solid wines for dinner, special occasions, or (as it was in my case) a respectable beverage to bring to a party when you’re on a budget.

Visiting wine shops is one of my favorite things to do, especially if the selection emphasizes small-production, biodynamic and family-owned Qvevri wines. These bottles are rarely found in the huge wine markets, so do not miss the chance to visit the above-listed wine shops while your stay in Tbilisi, that will surely be your unforgettable experience worth taking back to your homeland as a priceless memory.
